About Dennis Harrison

Dennis Harrison joined Jones School of Law in 2002 as an instructor in the Academic Success Program.  He continues to serve in that position.  He has also served as an adjunct professor of law since 1994.  He has taught a range of courses, including Water Resource Law, Environmental Law, Property, Torts, Contracts, Evidence, Sales, Law Office Management, Real Estate Practice, Advanced Legal Analysis, and Products Liability.

Professor Harrison received his Juris Doctorate from Faulkner Law, graduating top of class (magna cum laude).  He scored in the 93 percentile (the top 7%) on the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT).  While in law school, he was named to the Dean’s Honor Roll every semester attended, served as a student member of the Alabama State Bar, and was elected to Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.  He was the recipient of the James J. Carter Scholarship Award for having highest grade point average in graduating class and the recipient of West Publishing Company’s Award for Outstanding Scholastic Achievement for being in the top four students in his graduating class.  He also received the Best Paper Award in Contracts, Torts, Corporations, and Conflicts of Law.

In addition to his work at Jones School of Law, Professor Harrison works at the Alabama Department of Environmental Management as the Chief of the Drinking Water Branch of the Water Division.  He is responsible for the state of Alabama’s Public Drinking Water Program, including the regulation of over six hundred public water systems.

Professor Harrison has also taught undergraduate Property Law for the Criminal Justice Department of Faulkner University and the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT) preparatory class for KAPLAN on the campus of Auburn University and the campus of Auburn University Montgomery.

He is licensed to practice law in Alabama, is a Certified Public Manager in Alabama, and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Alabama and Florida.
