A dinner was held in honor of Billy and Louise Lambert Tuesday, March 6 at University Church of Christ in Montgomery, Alabama. The dinner was a part of the Faulkner Bible Lectures.

Billy currently serves Faulkner University as the chair of the Board of Trustees.

“Faulkner University if fortunate to have Billy Lambert serving as chair of her Board of Trustees. His strong, steady hand helps insure that Faulkner will prosper and grow and remain true to the mission and values of her founder,” said Cecil May Jr., dean emeritus of the VP Black College of Biblical Studies.

Billy began preaching in 1962, and in 2006 he began preaching five times a week on the television program “Getting to Know Your Bible.” He is an elder of the Summerdale Church of Christ in Summerdale Ala.

Billy and Louise married in 1963.

“Louise is the queen of their home. She was a dominant force in rearing three faithful children, a son and two daughters’” said May.

Faulkner University Chancelor Billy Hilyer said, “I can tell you that no one – and I mean no one- has supported Faulkner University through the years more than Billy and Louise Lambert.”

The Lamberts were given a folder of letters written by numerous members of the Faulkner community, and a quilt presented on behalf of the V. P. Black College of Biblical Studies by the college’s dean, Scott Gleaves, and his wife Sherri, who designed and crafted the quilt.
