Steve Wages Biography
Dr. Steve Wages is professor of Family Studies in the V. P. Black College of Biblical Studies and Kearley Graduate School of Theology. Dr. Wages obtained a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Abilene Christian University and a Ph.D. in Family, Child, and Consumer Sciences from Florida State University. Prior to relocating to Alabama, he served on the Texas Council on Family Relations Board of Directors for nearly 20 years and was recipient of the prestigious Moore-Bowman Award for outstanding and continuing support of family well-being in the state of Texas. He has dedicated the past 30 years to family life education because he believes marriage and family life is a place of spiritual warfare. He is a frequent speaker on topics designed to promote healthy and holy relationships, build strong marriages and faithful families, and train parents to effectively form the faith and character of today’s youth all in accordance with God’s plan.
Dr. Wages serves as Director of the Cloverdale Center for Youth and Family. The mission of Cloverdale is to equip youth and families to join God’s redemptive mission in the world by creating legacies of strong faithful families. Through bible-based family life education programs, Cloverdale provides the tools and resources needed to build a strong marriage and faithful family.
Bible courses in Family Studies are designed to provide students with an opportunity to discover how Christian faith influences marriage and family life. We are created as relationship beings and called into relationships with God the Father and with one another. I am dedicated to the preparation of students for the vital relationships you will form in marriage and family life, in your church and community, and in your workplace all in accordance with God’s design.
