Images in Ink: A Historical Timeline
1981
Ms. Beverly Nall Pace, from Faulkner's English department, founded Images in Ink to give artistically gifted students a platform for expression.
Early Years
With no budget, sponsors solicited donations to publish the magazine. Despite challenges, the publication appeared almost every year.
Growth
As Faulkner University grew, so did Images. The university began funding the magazine, and submission opportunities expanded to include faculty and staff.
Modern Era
The magazine now benefits from professional graphic design, a larger review staff, and continues to evolve under the English and Humanities Department.
Aim of the Publication
Images highlights the artistic achievements of the Faulkner family—students, staff, faculty, and alumni—in a free spring publication. It seeks to contribute to the arts through a Christian lens, viewing the magazine as a form of mission work that affirms the human experience in Christ.
