Founder’s Day

The Dream began long before April 13, 1942, but at 9:30 AM that day ten men met at the Panama Street Church of Christ and discussed formal plans to establish what is now Faulkner University.

Generations of students are indebted to these visionaries for pursuing this Dream for Christian Education.

We ask all alumni and friends of Faulkner University to invest in that same Dream.  On this Founders’ Day April 13, 2022, we join together to celebrate and give back in appreciation for those pioneers who had the courage to dream.

Here are some specific programs you can invest in to support the Dream.

• Zorn Scholarship: There are not enough qualified and prepared to fill the open pulpits, ministries and mission efforts in the United States and around the globe. The Zorn Scholarship provides full tuition for up to five years for undergraduate students majoring in Bible and preparing to serve in ministry.  Your gift helps prepare more full-time ministers and missionaries fill this critical need.
• College of Health Sciences Clinic: The demand for speech, physical and occupational therapy has skyrocketed due to the rapid increase in the incidence of autism and other health challenges.  The College of Health Sciences Clinic was established to address these critical life challenges.  The Clinic provides practical training for our College of Health Sciences students as well as free treatment for patients in the River Region.  Already, patients have received over 2,400 treatment appointments since the program began.  Your contribution makes it possible for us to serve these patients and train the next generation of care providers.
• Jamboree: Since the 1970’s literally thousands of students have performed in the annual Jamboree.  Perhaps you remember performing on the rotunda stage or the gym floor.  On stage in the darkness stomachs churn in breathless anticipation, then suddenly the lights come up and the room is filled with musical energy.  Jamboree is one of the largest annual events that draws together students and alumni to celebrate the Faulkner heritage.  Your gift to Jamboree helps keep this tradition alive for the next generation of students.
• Sports Fan: Intercollegiate athletics provides an important outlet for student competition and alumni engagement.  Each year the success of our student-athletes and coaches results in the opportunity for post-season play for various sports teams.  The chance to travel and compete regionally and nationally is the satisfying reward for a season of hard work.  Your gift as a Sports Fan makes it possible to help send our outstanding athletic performers to these much-deserved opportunities for championship competition.
