Dr. Billy Camp Biography
Dr. Billy Camp is professor of theology and apologetics in the V.P. Black College of Biblical Studies and the Kearley Graduate School of Theology. He received a master’s degree in Biblical Studies from Faulkner University, and a Ph.D. in Theology and Apologetics from Liberty University. Camp has lived in Montgomery, Alabama since 2009 when he arrived as a freshman at Faulkner University. While at Faulkner, he met his wife, Shelby. They have been married since 2013 and have three children: Kinley, Roman, and Lewis. Camp also serves as a minister at the Dalraida church of Christ in Montgomery where he has worked since 2011.
As a student at Faulkner University I had professors who took their desire for teaching beyond the classroom. They made an intentional effort to trade lecturing at a podium about theology with leaning on a truck bed talking about God. My goal as a professor is to follow in their steps. Some of the best teaching opportunities extend beyond the classroom. Jesus, the master teacher, taught crowds while standing in a boat at the end of the sea. The best teachers model their classrooms after his. This is what education looks like at Faulkner, and I am honored to be a part of it.
