For nearly three decades, Alice Moore helped shape the heart of Faulkner University—not in a classroom or an office, but in the campus cafeteria, where faith, love and hospitality were served daily alongside warm meals. Now you have a chance to honor her legacy and impact the next generation of Faulkner students through giving toward the Faith and Futures Endowment Fund in her memory.
From before dawn until well after the dinner rush, Alice opened the cafeteria doors for 27 years, ensuring students were greeted with hot eggs, bacon and grits—and an even warmer smile. Serving as director of food services for Culinary Management Solutions until 2017, she became a second mother to countless students who found in her comfort, care and community. When she passed away on January 4, 2026, her family asked that, in lieu of flowers, gifts be made to the new Faith and Futures Endowment Fund to honor her life and legacy.
If you would like to stop by and share your stories of Alice with the family, there will be an informal gathering in the JLP Dining Room on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Your gift supports student scholarships and empowers future generations at Faulkner University.
Through this fund, Alice’s spirit of service, love and faith will continue to nourish the Faulkner community for years to come.

Moving to Montgomery from Grand Junction, Tennessee, Alice found a new family at Faulkner University. For many students, her bright smile was one of the first they encountered on campus, accompanied by the familiar aromas of her famous cinnamon rolls, fried chicken and Cajun casserole. Those smells—and the memories attached to them—continue to draw alumni back for visits and hugs years after graduation.
Alice believed the cafeteria should be more than a place to eat. Under her leadership, it became a home away from home. She once wrote letters to students’ families asking for their favorite home-cooked recipes, then lovingly recreated those meals for students each week to ease homesickness and foster connection. Her beloved “Ask Alice” board invited students and staff to share suggestions, encouragement and ideas, reinforcing that everyone had a voice and a place.
Donations in Alice Moore’s memory may be made to the newly established Faith and Futures Endowment Fund at Faulkner University, which will support and positively impact generations of students through maintaining student scholarships for years to come.
