On behalf of the Cloverdale Center for Family Strengths and Our Families magazine, Faulkner University is pleased to announce that Donnie and Sherrie Hilliard have been selected as the recipients of the 2014 Tower of Strength Marriage Award.
An appreciation dinner to honor the Hilliards is planned for this Wednesday, March 5, at the University Church of Christ in Montgomery. Tickets are now on sale for $12. For more information, please contact Jeanette Stubblefield at: email@example.com.
Donnie Hilliard is director of the Cloverdale Center for Family Strengths at Faulkner. The organization focuses on strengthening marriages rather than intervening in troubled marriages. He earned his Ph.D. in family studies from the University of Alabama and collaborated with his professor and mentor, Dr. Nick Stinnet, to write the book titled Magnificent Marriage. He first came to Faulkner as a coach prior to becoming director of the Cloverdale Center for Family Strengths. He is also a preacher and Bible teacher and has conducted numerous seminars on marriage and family topics. Sherrie Hilliard is an accomplished musician, horsewoman and artist. Some of her portrait paintings hang in the atrium of the Harris-Parker building.
The Hilliards have been married since 1979 and have two children: Sarah, married to Allen Roberts, and David. Both of their children live in Nashville and are involved with the Antioch church of Christ.
