College of Arts and Sciences
Liberal Arts
The liberal arts are those subjects which are appropriate to free people in a free society, those that help the student wrestle with the fundamental issues of human existence
Program Objectives
Liberal arts can be considered the basis of all education in the Western tradition. Exploring human development through arts, philosophy, literature, and history, these studies build skills in critical thinking, writing, researching, and speaking. A liberal arts degree also provides a versatile entry point to many careers and an excellent foundation for graduate and professional studies. Within the framework of the faith-based community of Faulkner University, the curriculum of liberal arts explores the meaning of human existence and action. Faulkner offers both Bachelor’s degree and Associate’s degree options for the Liberal Arts program.
