B.S. in Finance

With a bachelor’s in finance, students will leave Faulkner University prepared to pursue further education or begin a successful career in business. The experience, knowledge, and skill sets imparted by this program are the foundation for many opportunities. These opportunities span a wide range of what the world has to offer.

Program Objectives

The Bachelor of Science in Finance degree program provides a broad overview of the functional areas of business with an emphasis in finance. The Bachelor of Science in Finance degree program focuses on managerial finance,risk management, financial markets, financial planning, estate planning, and taxation concepts. Prepares students to plan and manage the financial interests and growth of individuals and institutions. The finance curriculum prepares students for careers in financial management and financial planning. Graduates will leave with the following skills and abilities.

  • A functional business knowledge of financial concepts and principles.
  • Strategic management problem solving skills applicable to financial management.
  • The ability to apply key analytical concepts and methods as decision tools to solve financial problems.
  • The ability to explain and apply key concepts in investment analysis and portfolio management.
  • A knowledge of financial institutions and regulatory entities and their functions.
  • A basic understanding of retirement planning, insurance, financial markets and institutions.

Admission Requirements
  • Must be a high school graduate with a regular or advanced diploma or have a GED certificate
  • For 2026-2027, applicants with either an ACT Composite score of 18 or a minimum GPA of 3.25 or higher, qualify for unconditional admission.
  • Applicants who do not meet this requirement will be considered for conditional admission. See the current catalog for conditional admissions criteria.
  • Faulkner University admits students who wish to transfer from other accredited Colleges and Universities. Specific information of the transfer of credits may be found in the Transfer Credit section of the undergraduate catalog.
