B.S. in Biology

Faulkner University’s Bachelor of Science in Biology program prepares students in Alabama for careers, research opportunities, and advanced training in a wide variety of biological sciences.

Program Objectives

The B.S. in Biology program provides students with a broad and integrated foundation across the biological sciences, including zoology, botany, microbiology, and related subdisciplines. The program is designed to develop strong analytical, laboratory, and critical‑thinking skills while fostering an appreciation for biological diversity and scientific inquiry. Graduates are well prepared for pre‑professional studies in human health fields such as medicine, dentistry, ophthalmology, physical therapy, nutrition, and pharmacy, as well as for careers in animal science, veterinary and medical fields, agronomy, food science, forensic science, anthropology, and related areas. Through rigorous coursework and hands‑on learning experiences, students gain the knowledge and skills necessary for graduate study, professional training, and entry into a wide range of biology‑based careers.

FAQ

What is Rolling Admissions?

The program evaluates PTCAS verified applications from June 15th until May 1st. This means that we conduct interviews both in the fall and spring semesters. Rather than admitting applicants all at once, we make admission decisions throughout the year.
