The individual time and help I received from my teachers at Faulkner allowed me to get the best grades so that I could compete with other students across the country.”Busby received cum laude and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in biology and pre-veterinary medicine. While at Faulkner, she was a member of Alpha Delta Psi and president, sang in and was the vice-president of the A cappella Chorus and Chamber Singers and Ambassadors. She also received the Biology Award in 1996.She continued her education at Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2001 with a Doctorate of veterinary medicine. Because she was surrounded by other students who shared her faith at Faulkner, Busby grew as a Christian, she said. “The first time that I could look back and see that God was guiding my life was the year I graduated vet school,” she said. “All my life I had planned to be a 2000 graduate, but I was not accepted into vet school with my first application. “In 2000, when several of my friends graduated, there were no job opportunities in Montgomery for new veterinary graduates. In 2001, there were four. One of those was my first job. Busby is married to Scott Busby and they have two children, Kate, 13 and Brooks, 11. They are active members of the University Church of Christ.
