When the “lightbulb” goes on in a student’s mind, it’s the most rewarding experience of Julie Knapp’s day.As a teacher, Knapp loves to see her students grow through learning new concepts.“Currently I\u2019m a teacher for 6th & 7th grade Social Studies and STEM teacher for K through 8th grades at Georgia Christian School,” Knapp said. “What I enjoy the most is when students problem solve using the strategies they\u2019ve been taught in multiple subjects. Seeing it all come together and the \u201clight bulb\u201d go on in a student\u2019s mind is the best!”An alumna of Faulkner University’s College of Education, Knapp was invited back during the 2023 Marketplace Faith Friday Forums to be the Distinguished alumna. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. It was at Faulkner that she developed her talents as an educator. “My professors taught the curriculum well but, most importantly they gave me real life examples of what to really expect in the classroom.  They taught Godly wisdom by their actions and words.  They showed compassion, hospitality, and love that carried me through my college years and still influences me today,” Knapp said.  “Faulkner is where I grew in my Christian faith and developed my God given talents to be an educator. It is where I made life long friendships that I still have today.  I also met and married my best friend, my husband.”Teaching is one of the most important jobs anyone can have and learning to be the best teacher you can be is vital.
