  • Graduate Application

Master of Science in Counseling (MSC)
Specific requirements:

  • Completed graduate application for admission
  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
  • Minimum GPA of 2.75 cumulative from undergraduate courses or 3.0 in graduate courses.
  • Goal Statement (400 words)
  • Three recommendation forms

Concerning the MAT:

Application Deadlines:

  • December 1 for spring semester
  • April 15 for summer semester
  • July 17 for fall semester

Master of Education School Counseling

  • Completed graduate application
  • A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university; you must provide transcripts from all institutions attended.
  • Passing scores on the MAT (at least 370) or GRE (at least 280). Exam results cannot be more than five years old and must be forwarded directly to Faulkner from the testing service.
  • Three letters of recommendation with specific comments regarding the applicant’s academic work, professional experience and ability to successfully complete graduate study. The letters are usually from the applicant’s faculty members or supervisory personnel.
  • A goal statement (approximately 600 words) specifying the applicant’s personal goals for their professional development as a school counselor and future employment in the field. The statement should include a rationale for attending Faulkner University to help reach their goals as well as a description of previous professional experience and how that experience will support them in the program and professional field of counseling.
  • Valid class A or B Alabama teaching certificate
  • A minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 2.75 in undergraduate courses and 3.0 in graduate courses.
  • Completed form from principal or other school official verifying 2 years of full-time acceptable professional educational work experience

Master of Arts in Christian Counseling and Family Ministry

Master of Education

 

Master of Justice Administration (MJA)
Specific requirements:

  • Completed graduate application for admission
  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 on undergraduate degree
  • Minimum GPA of 3.00 from field of study
  • Letter of Intent (300 word minimum)
  • Resume
  • Three professional letters of recommendation

Concerning MAT (Miller Analogies Test):

  • MAT waived if student meets GPA requirement
  • For students who have less than the 2.5/3.0 GPA minimum, the following formula will be used to determine admission to the MJA program: (Overall GPA * 330) + MAT scores = 1,250 or above

Master of Science in Management (MSM)
Specific requirements:

  • Completed graduate application for admission
  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Official transcripts from all college and universities attended
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 on undergraduate degree
  • Resume including education and at least 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Students seeking admission to the MSM program must have completed a course in Statistics, Quantitative Business Analysis, or Operations Research. It is strongly recommended that students enrolling in the program should have completed courses in Economics, Finance, Marketing, Management, and Information Systems.
  • Must take GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test)
    • GMAT scores must be no more than two years old
    • (Undergraduate GPA x 200)+GMAT score=900 or higher.
    • Applicants who do not have a current GMAT score to submit may be allowed to enroll on a conditional basis provided they have the appropriate GPA and prerequisites. They will, however, have to take the GMAT by the end of the first 60 days of starting their coursework. Students not making the requisite GMAT/GPA composite score (see formula above) will need to be in good academic standing to be considered for continued enrollment in the program.

 

Executive Master of Business Administration (Executive MBA)
Specific requirements:

  • Completed graduate application for admission
  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in Business Administration or related discipline. Official transcripts from all schools attended must be submitted.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.75 (Students from AACSB, ACBSP or IACBE accredited institutions having a minimum GPA of 2.5 will be considered for admission along with students from a regionally and professionally accredited college of engineering.)
  • Resume including education and at least four years of relevant work experience. The Academic department will determine relevancy as related to business and management.
  • If degree is in other discipline, must have completed the following coursework:
    • 1 Course in Accounting
    • 1 Course in Economics
    • 1 Course in Statistics
    • 1 Course in either Management or Marketing

Concerning GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test):

  • Must take GMAT
    • GMAT scores must be no more than two years old
  • Students who have not taken GMAT may be allowed to enroll on a conditional basis. GMAT must be taken by the end of the first semester to remain in the program.
  • Must meet the following standard for admission:
  • (Undergraduate GPA x 200) + GMAT score = 950 or higher

Application Deadlines:

  • December 11 for spring semester

Master of Arts in Humanities (MHUM)
Specific requirements:

  • Completed graduate application for admission
  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
  • Three recommendation letters or emails
  • Goal Statement (300 word minimum)
  • Approval by the director of the Master of Arts in Humanities program

Concerning MAT (Miller Analogies Test) and GRE (Graduate Record Examination):

  • MAT score of 400 or above (if taken within the last five years) OR
  • GRE – revised score of 297 or above (if taken within the last five years)

Doctor of Humanities (DHUM)
Specific requirements:

  • Completed graduate application for admission
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
  • Three recommendation letters or emails
  • Goal Statement (400-500 words)
  • Scholarly postgraduate writing sample
  • Approval by the director

Concerning MAT (Miller Analogies Test) and GRE (Graduate Record Examination):

  • MAT score of 400 or above (if taken within the last five years) OR
  • GRE – revised score of 297 or above (if taken within the last five years)
  • This requirement may be waived for students holding master’s degrees in related fields

Doctor of Philosophy in Biblical Studies
Specific requirements for PhD in Biblical Studies:

  • Completed graduate application
  • Master’s degree in biblical-studies from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 in master’s degree program. If the student does not meet this requirement, the student may request conditional admission.
  • Score of 500 on TOEFL (required of all students for whom English is a second language)
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Goal statement (1500 word minimum) – see additional directions
  • Sample of post graduate research paper or thesis in biblical studies
  • Participate in a faculty interview
  • Receive approval for admission

Application Deadlines:
