What if I need help outside of ACE availability?
Where is the ACE located?
We are located in Brooks Hall, room 405.
When is the ACE open?
During the school year, the ACE is open on Monday-Thursday from 9-5 and on Friday from 9-2. Subject area tutoring is dependent on tutor availability. To view our schedule and availability, please visit https://www.faulkner.edu/acelogin. First time visitors will need to register for an account. Please note that students must register using their Faulkner email account.
How much does it cost to visit the ACE?
Nothing at all! Our support services are completely free of charge to all Faulkner students.
How do I make an appointment?
Students may visit the ACE at any time during regular center hours. Use of computers, printers, and other academic resources do not require students to sign up in advance. Walk-ins are also welcome for peer tutoring, but dependent on tutor availability. If possible, the ACE recommends signing up in advance for peer tutoring.
To sign up for peer tutoring, students will need to visit https://www.faulkner.edu/acelogin. First time visitors will need to register for an account using their Faulkner email address. Once an account has been created, students can view the current center schedule. At the top of the page, there is a drop-down box titled “Limit To” that allows you to search available appointments by subject area. The white boxes are the available appointments. To reserve a session, simply click on a white box, fill in the required information, and then click “Save Appointment.”Students can also sign up for an appointment by calling the center at 334-386-7294 or emailing email@example.com.
How long will my session last?
All sessions are scheduled in 30 minute increments. For quick questions and simple topics, the entire 30 minutes may not be necessary. For longer or more complex topics, multiple sessions may be needed.
Who will be helping me?
Our tutors are Faulkner University students who have demonstrated exceptional skill in their subject area, have been recommended by their professors, and have undergone NTA training and certification. To learn more about our staff, see our personal bios.
What kind of assignments do you help with?
We are happy to help with any type of assignment. Students can bring in math worksheets, research papers, lab reports, resumes, presentations, you name it. However, it is important to note that the ACE will only assist and guide; they will never complete assignments for a student.
What type of help will I receive?
Please note that our tutors will not complete assignments for you. However, they will assist in the process. They will answer questions, explain concepts, provide examples, and share resources in order to help you complete the assignment and become a capable, independent learner.
What should I do if I need to cancel/reschedule?
If you need to cancel an appointment, please visit https://www.faulkner.edu/acelogin and login to your account. From there, find your appointment time and click on the orange box. This will open a new page with your appointment details. At the bottom of the page, you will see a button that says “Cancel This Appointment.” After canceling the appointment, be sure to find another available appointment time that works with your schedule and reserve that session.
What happens if I skip my appointment without canceling?
We want to ensure that our time and services are being used as effectively as possible. As such, if you skip an appointment without cancelling, you will be marked as a “no-show” for that appointment. After the third no-show, you will be blocked from the scheduling system. You can always walk-in and work with a tutor if one is available, but you will not be able to reserve a time in advance. To unblock your account and regain access to appointments, you will need to meet with the ACE director.
What if I am late to my appointment?
If possible, please inform the ACE that you still plan to attend your session but will be arriving late. If you are a few minutes late, you may begin your session as usual. However, it will still need to end at the scheduled time if the following session is booked. If you are more than 10 minutes late, you will be marked as a no-show and your appointment may be given to the next person in line.
