Steve Phillips

Steve Phillips is an Associate Professor of Physical Education at Faulkner University.  He holds an Associate of Arts degree from Alabama Christian College (now Faulkner University), a Bachelor’s degree from Auburn University Montgomery and a Master’s of Education degree from Alabama State University.

Phillips taught for 25 years in the Montgomery, Alabama Public School System at the elementary and secondary levels.  He also spent those years as a coach with the City of Montgomery Parks and Recreation Department.  Phillips teaches a variety of Physical Education and Sports Management courses at Faulkner, including Lifetime Fitness, Foundations, Materials and Methods, Organization and Administration, among others.

He enjoys spending time with the Faulkner Football Program as an Academic Advisor.  Along with his Faulkner responsibilities, Phillips serves as an Elder at the Dalraida Church of Christ.  He is currently enjoying his new grandparent responsibilities as “Paw Paw” Phillips.

“I choose to work at Faulkner, because it gave me the opportunity to ‘come back home,’ and teach at the school that I went to as a young man.  The guidance and instruction those men and women gave me, has given me the desire to ‘pass it on’ to this generation, and hopefully influence today’s students for good.”
