Susan Ling joined the faculty at Faulkner University in 2011. She serves as an assistant professor of mathematics at the Mobile campus. Ling graduated from Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and later obtained a master’s degree in applied mathematics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Ling has taught at the college level since 2009 and has tutored college level mathematics for over 20 years. In addition to teaching mathematics courses, she currently provides tutoring services for all students at the Mobile campus. Before returning to the academic world, Ling worked for five years in the insurance industry as a life actuarial analyst.
An important aspect of her life is family — her husband, three children, and two cats. They spend their time playing games together, running races, and working with the church.
“I enjoy helping students to not be afraid of math. My position at Faulkner allows me to meet people from various backgrounds who share a fear or dislike of mathematics. I love helping each student get over the math hurdles in his or her academic journey.”
