The recent accreditation achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of the program\u2019s faculty, staff, and students, and provides a foundation for future success.\u201cWe are thrilled with this historic achievement,\u201d said Faulkner University President Mitch Henry. \u201cIt\u2019s a wonderful day in the history of Faulkner University, and we could not be prouder of our OTD team. The 7-year accreditation period we received is the maximum possible length, and it speaks to the quality and dedication of this program.\u201dThe accredited OTD program is an entry-level doctoral degree that prepares students to become professional occupational therapists. Graduates will be eligible to sit for the national certification examination for occupational therapists administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Upon passing the exam, individuals will become an Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR).Faulkner University\u2019s OTD program is part of the College of Health Sciences, which also includes nursing, as well as other healthcare programs such as speech-language pathology, physician assistant and physical therapy.
