Undergraduate Internship Program Admission Requirements

  1. Submission of a formal application to the Internship Program;

  2. Submission of an autobiographical statement;

  3. Demonstration of current membership in Student of Alabama Education Association;

  4. Submitted documentation of the completion of a Start of School experience;

  5. Successful achievement of a 2.5 minimum GPA in the teaching field courses, professional content courses, and overall;

  6. Successful completion of entire degree plan;

  7. Completion and approval of field experience hours meeting all diversity requirements;

  8. Successful completion of the Major Field Test,;

  9. Successful completion of the appropriate Praxis II Content test (official results must be received from the testing company);

  10. Successful completion of a background examination by the Alabama State Department of Education;

  11. Successful completion of an interview with a College of Education panel;

  12. Approval of Professional Portfolio within Livetext;

  13. Successful completion of an interview with the Teacher Education Committee.
