Faulkner Repeats as ABA Moot Court Champions

For the second year in a row Faulkner Law wins the ABA’s National Appellate Advocacy Competition regional. Last year Faulkner Law won in St. Louis, Missouri, this time the regional was in Seattle, Washington.


The team of Ian Kennedy and Morgan Sanders rolled through the regional winning Best Brief and taking home individual awards as the 2nd , Ian Kennedy, and 5th , Morgan Sanders, Best Advocates in the regional.


They did not drop a single ballot in their semi-final win over Florida International and in their regional championship round against Northwestern, going 10-0 on Sunday. The team easily won its preliminary rounds over Phoenix, Duke and Pepperdine.


“This was by far the most dominating moot court performance we have had at this competition” said Professor and Director of Advocacy Programs, Joe Lester, “I am very proud of this team, they have certainly earned their place at the national finals.” The team will travel to Chicago for the national finals in mid-April.


The win is Faulkner Law’s fourth regional advocacy championship in 2014.
