Potential graduates should apply for graduation when they register for their final term, and contact their academic advisors to ensure that all requirements are met.
The deadline to apply for December graduation is
September 2, 2008.
Both the application and the $100 fee must be turned in by the deadline. Applications received after the deadline must pay an additional $50 late fee, bringing the total fee to $150. Please be aware that applying after the deadline means you will not be eligible to participate in the commencement ceremony and your diploma will be mailed to you the week following graduation.

GRADUATION APPLICATION PROCESS
To graduate - that is, to have your degree conferred and printed on your transcript - you must complete the first three steps of this process, as described below, even if you do not plan to participate in the graduation ceremony. If you plan to participate in the ceremony, you will also need to follow the fourth step to arrange for your graduation regalia. Your application must include the graduation fee even if you are not participating in the ceremony.

Traditional Bachelor's or Associate's Graduation Application

For students in MABS, M.Ed., M.L.A., or M.S.M. masters' programs
- Fill out the form, sign it, and mail or fax it to the address or fax below.
- Include your $100 graduation fee when you apply.
You must pay this fee even if you do not plan to participate in the ceremony. If you applied for this same degree in a previous year, but the degree was not awarded, the re-application fee is only $15. - Make separate arrangements for your cap and gown.

Line-Up
Graduates need to be in the Rotunda 45 minutes prior to their ceremony for line-up. Signs will be posted at each entrance to guide graduates to their respective rooms.
Tickets
Tickets will be mailed to every graduate who elects to participate in the ceremony. The number of tickets is taken from the State Fire Marshall’s total capacity for the gym divided by the total number of participants. This is why it is impossible to obtain extra tickets. Every guest, including babies and infants, must have a ticket per the Fire Marshall’s code.
Photography
A picture will be taken of each graduate as the President presents the diploma. An order form will be send to you along with your proof by:

The application fee does not pay for your cap and gown. If you plan to participate in the ceremony, you will need to contact Faulkner's Bookstore at 800 879-9816, ext. 7160 or at 334 386-7160. You can also visit the Herff-Jones website.
The campus bookstore will be open graduation day from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. and 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. for pick up.
GRADUATION DRESS
CLOTHING: Dark pants, dresses or skirt and light shirt with tie for men. Dark closed dress shoes (no flip-flops allowed).
HAIR STYLES: Hairdos should be simple to allow the mortarboard to be worn flat on top of the head.
PERSONAL ITEMS: DO NOT bring valuables (cameras/purses/handbags) with you to the line-up room.
We cannot be responsible for valuables you leave behind in the classroom.
Graduates ARE NOT ALLOWED to wear any adornments (Awards,Medallions,Drapes,etc.) unless it is specified by your deparment and relative to your degree.
