The first
meeting of the Christian College Librarians (CCL) was held at Oklahoma
Christian College on May 10, 1974. Twenty years later, on May 19, 1994,charter
members were honored with certificates. Initially no dues were collected
and the group was loosely organized. Institutional hosts were responsible
for arranging programs at annual meetings; often consulting with Abilene
Christian University (ACU) for programming topics related to the Restoration
Serials Index since ACU sponsors this project for CCL. The initial organizer
of the first meeting was Dr. Bailey McBride.
