Welcome from Professor

A warm welcome to this course on the life of Christ.  The study of the life of Christ is a study of the one man Jesus, the Savior, whose life has had the greatest impact on the world above any single person in history.  This course is designed to cover the main biblical teachings related to the events and teachings from the life of Jesus, the Christ.  Emphasis will be placed on the historical situation in which the Christ was revealed, his teaching, and his influence and challenge to peoples belief systems.

I hope you find yourself challenged in this course as well as encouraged by the life of Christ while finding yourself strengthen in faith and enlightened by the teachings of Jesus.

 

Distance Education

Taking courses online require a student to be organized and self-motivated to keep up with reading and assignments. Keeping up with assignment due dates and set discussion time periods are crucial. Student must also be comfortable and competent in using a computer for discussion groups, Internet research, e-mail, and sending attachments by e-mail.

 

How this Course is Organized

This course consists of seventeen sections on the Life of Christ. Each section requires the student to read the material online, the textbook for the course, the Biblical text, and any other assigned reading per the professors instructions. The readings, papers, and other assignments must be done at the designated times to allow for the student’s interaction in threaded discussions with his/her fellow classmates.

The life of Christ course material page contains the table of contents that links you to each section.  Each section consists three parts.  These are:

The introduction to the section briefly describes the content of the section.  It will tell you the purpose and objectives of the section.  The study overview is written material, terms, people, places, and teachings with which the student must be familiar.  The third part is the section assignments.  This part will describe the reading and assignments associated with that section.

In any of these sections you may find links to related material or websites for more indepth information.  Be sure to follow the links and be familiar with the information.

How to Study for this Course

There are three main elements that must be completed in each section of the course. Two of these elements will receive grades for each section. The three sections are:

Material provided to facilitate the student’s studies is just the initial point for the study of the Life of Christ. An extremely important aspect is the student’s thinking skills as he/she processes the material and discusses it in discussions and in written form. The use of outside sources available on the Internet or through non-digital formats are deemed an important part of the student’s studies.
