March 4, 2013

Faulkner Law won three ABA Regional titles this past weekend sweeping two titles at the ABA National Appellate Advocacy Competition (NAAC) Regional in St. Louis and finishing first and second in the ABA Representation in Mediation Regional in Montgomery.

All three teams move on to the National finals which coincidentally will both be in Chicago the first week in April.

Sherri Mazur, Ian Kennedy and Morgan Sanders defeated an excellent team from Washington University St. Louis and Drake in the semi-finals and finals to win the NAAC regional.  Leslie Pescia, Evan Loftis and Jordan Davis defeated Wayne State and Loyola Chicago in their final two rounds to also win the NAAC regional.

Leslie Pescia was named the 7th Best Advocate in the regional and her team brief also claimed the prize for 4th best brief.  There were 36 teams from 20 schools in the regional including traditional moot court powerhouses Baylor and Chicago Kent.

The Faulkner team of Joshua Bradshaw and Ashley Norgard defeated the other Faulkner team of Sonia Sonnenberg and Mark Gullatte in the regional finals of the ABA Representation in Mediation competition.  Both Faulkner teams advanced to the finals in a regional that included two teams each from Ohio State, Marquette, LSU, Tulane and Mississippi College.
