Graduate Programs admission requirements vary among graduate programs at Faulkner University. Please locate your program of interest below to review specific requirements for each program.

Master of Arts in Biblical Studies (MABS) Specific requirements:
  • Completed graduate application for admission
  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • One must be from a church leader
  • Goal Statement (250 word minimum)

Application Deadlines:

  • December 1 for spring semester
  • April 5 for summer semester
  • July 15 for fall semester

 

Master of Arts in Christian Ministry (MACM) Specific requirements:
  • Completed graduate application for admission
  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
  • Three letters of recommendation
    • One must be from a church leader
  • Goal Statement (250 word minimum)

Application Deadlines:

Master of Education Alternative A (MED Alt A) Specific requirements:
  • Completed graduate application for admission
  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5
  • Three recommendation letters
  • Goal Statement (250 word minimum)

Concerning MAT (Miller Analogies Test) and GRE (Graduate Record Examination):

  • Minimum MAT score of 370
  • Minimum GRE score of 700

Concerning Elementary Education: Must meet 4×12 rule – if not, must take PRAXIS II Concerning Secondary Education: Must meet 32 x 19 rule – if not, must take PRAXIS II

Master of Education Traditional (MEDT) Specific Requirements:
  • A valid bachelor’s-level professional educator certificate in the same teaching field(s) in which the Class A Professional Educator Certificate is sought
  • Completed graduate application for admission
  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5
  • Three recommendation letters
  • Goal Statement (250 word minimum)

Concerning MAT (Miller Analogies Test) and GRE (Graduate Record Examination):

  • Minimum MAT score of 370
  • Minimum GRE score of 700

Concerning Elementary Education:

Must have earned at least 12 semester hours of acceptable credit, as verified on official transcripts, in each of the following areas: English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies or earned the current passing score on the prescribed Praxis II subject assessment of the Alabama Educator Certification Testing Program.

Concerning Secondary Education:

An academic major in the teaching field, or if an academic major is not on the official transcript, 32 semester hours appropriate to the teaching field including at least 19 hours of upper-division credit or earned the current passing score on the prescribed Praxis II subject assessment of the Alabama Educator Certification Testing Program.

Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) English, Math, Biology, or History Specific requirements:
  • Completed graduate application for admission
  • Bachelor’s degree in emphasis field (English, Math, Biology, or History) from a regionally accredited college or university or Bachelor’s degree in any field with 30 hours in emphasis field
  • Undergraduate GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
  • Three recommendation letters or emails
  • Goal Statement (250 word minimum)

Concerning MAT (Miller Analogies Test) and GRE (Graduate Record Examination):

  • MAT score of 370 or above (if taken within the last five years)
  • GRE score of 700 or above (if taken within the last five years)

 

Master of Justice Administration (MJA) Specific requirements:
  • Completed graduate application for admission
  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 on undergraduate degree
  • Minimum GPA of 3.00 from field of study
  • Letter of Intent (300 word minimum)
  • Resume
  • Three professional letters of recommendation

Concerning MAT (Miller Analogies Test):

  • MAT waived if student meets GPA requirement.

 

Master of Science in Counseling (MSC) Specific requirements:
  • Completed graduate application for admission
  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
  • Minimum GPA of 2.75 from chosen major
  • Goal Statement (400 words)
  • Three recommendation forms

Concerning the GRE or MAT:

  • GRE (Graduate Record Examination) must have a score of 800 or above
  • MAT (Miller Analogies Test) must have a score of 370 or above
  • GRE/MAT waived for GPA of 3.0 or above on undergraduate degree or for those who already have a master’s degree

 

Master of Science in Management (MSM) Specific requirements:
  • Completed graduate application for admission
  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Official transcripts from all college and universities attended
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 on undergraduate degree
  • Resume
  • Must take GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test)
    • GMAT scores must be no more than two years old

 

Executive Master of Business Administration (Executive MBA) Specific requirements:
  • Completed graduate application for admission
  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Minimum GPA of 2.75
  • Resume
  • If degree is in other discipline, must have completed the following coursework:
    • 1 Course in Accounting
    • 1 Course in Economics
    • 1 Course in Statistics
    • 1 Course in either Management or Marketing

Concerning GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test):

  • Must take GMAT
    • GMAT scores must be no more than two years old
  • Students who have not taken GMAT may be allowed to enroll on a conditional basis. GMAT must be taken by the end of the first semester to remain in the program.
  • Must meet the following standard for admission:
  • (Undergraduate GPA x 200) + GMAT score = 950 or higher

 

Master of Arts in Humanities (MHUM) Specific requirements:
  • Completed graduate application for admission
  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
  • Three recommendation letters or emails
  • Goal Statement (300 word minimum)

Concerning MAT (Miller Analogies Test) and GRE (Graduate Record Examination):

Doctorate of Humanities (DHUM) Specific requirements:

Doctorate of Biblical Studies (DBIB) Specific requirements:
  • Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Graduate program should represent a broad based curriculum in Old Testament and/or New Testament, biblical language and foreign language.
  • Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Score of 500 on TOEFL (required of all students for whom English is a second language)
  • Three letters of recommendation
    • One must be from a church leader
  • Goal statement (1500 word minimum)
  • Sample of post graduate research paper or thesis in biblical studies
