Continuing Dependent Student Instruction Letter
To apply for financial aid for 2013-2014 school year:
- Prior to completing the FAFSA application, you and your parent need to
apply for a PIN at www.pin.ed.gov if you do not have a PIN or have lost
your PIN from last year. You will receive your PIN in real-time, so you
and your parents can use the PIN immediately to sign your FAFSA.
- Complete the renewal FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov by following the
on-screen instructions. Need assistance? Click on CHAT link to chat
online with a customer service representative or call 1-800-433-3243.
- Be sure to include Faulkner University's school code (001003) as one of
your college choices in Step 6. To simplify the process of your financial data, we recommend you use the IRS DATA RETRIEVAL TOOL when
completing he income tax portion of the FAFSA.
- After you complete the FAFSA print and complete the following 2013-2014 forms:
a. Alabama Student Grant Program Application (if you have been a resident of Alabama for the past 12 months)
b. Documentation of Alabama Residency: list of accepted proofs for State Grant. If you received the state grant for 2012-2013, you do not
have to provide the five proofs again for 2013-2014.
c. Loan Information Sheet
d. Federal Work Study Application
If you are selected for verification, we will notify you of other documents we will need.

To apply for a parent PLUS loan for 2013-2014, go to www.studentloans.gov and complete the PLUS LOAN APPLICATION. This must be done for all returning
students to receive a parent loan.
