The Faulkner volleyball team has received the program's first-ever bid to a national tournament, having accepted an at-large bid to the National Christian College Athletic Association's volleyball championships. The 10-team tournament is scheduled for Nov. 2-5 at Northwestern College in St. Paul, Minn.

The Eagles, currently 21-13 under first-year head coach Tori Bartels, are the sixth seed in the event.

"We're honored to have been chosen to compete for the NCCAA national championship,'' Bartels said. "I'm proud of this team, not only for what it's accomplished on the court, but for the way these student-athletes handled themselves off the court as well.''

Faulkner is currently in third place in the Southern States Athletic Conference standings with a 7-2 league record.
