Eagles route Rams

Mobile, Ala. - The Faulkner Eagles volleyball team upended the University of Mobile in a spectacular five game match tonight 30-23, 23-30, 30-26, 23-30, 15-12. The victory gives the Eagles back-to-back wins for the fist time this season.

"Mobile is a strong, aggressive team," head coach Tori Bartels said. "We played much better at the net than we have been and that's what pulled us through." The match snapped a four game winning streak for the Rams.

Lauren Middleton, Kimber Holt and Samantha Talley shared the responsibility at the net with four blocks each. Brittany Harden pounded home 13 kills, bringing her season total to 80, while libero Carrie Butler dominated the back row with 33 digs.

"I think we've started to find a rhythm," Bartels added. "We knew we had the talent it just took some time for everything to surface."

The team hopes to carry that rhythm to New York this weekend where they will face five opponents in the Houghton tournament.

The Eagles improve to 3-4 overall and 3-1 in the region.
