Eagles come up short at Loyola
NEW ORLEANS, La. - After an exciting win against Dillard Friday night, the Eagles volleyball team set its sites on Loyola University. The Eagles fought off a first game loss to take game two, but the Wolfpack held on to win the match 30-27, 14-30, 30-27, 30-20.

It was a disappointing loss for the Eagles. After coming up just short in game one, the Eagles came back to unleash a furious offense in game two, pummeling the 'Pack 30-14. Game three mirrored the first game with the Faulkner losing by a narrow margin, while game four resulted in pure frustration. The Eagles rallied back from a four-point deficit early on, but struggled to run points together throughout the game. Loyola was able to assemble a few runs of unanswered points and pulled out the match-clinching victory.

"We're a very young team," head coach Tori Bartels said. "We just need to find our rhythm and stick with it. We need to perform like we did in game two more consistently. We're 1-1 right now and that's good, but we know what we are capable of and where we want to be and I strongly believe we are on our way to that point."

The Eagles will travel to Jackson, Miss., for the Belhaven Tournament this weekend.
