Faulkner blisters Brenau in conference win

Montgomery, Ala. – The Eagles won their second straight conference match of the season today against the Golden Tigers of Brenau University. The Eagles took the match in only three games winning 30-15, 30-13, 30-15.
“Kimber Holt was on fire,” head coach Tori Bartels said. “They just couldn’t stop her.” The sophomore middle blocker had 11 kills in the match with no hitting errors.
Holly Hutcheson had a excellent match as well contributing 18 diggs, seven kills and three aces. BrittanyHarden as a force at the net with four total blocks on the day, three of which were solo efforts. Shaleen Knight added 26 assists to her already impressive season total which sits at 426 after this afternoons contest.
“Carrie Butler had some really impressive diggs this afternoon as well, “ Bartels added. The senior libero ended the match with 14 diggs.
“We executed well today,” said Bartels. “ We had very few hitting errors and we played disciplined volleyball. I know that sounds repetative, but that’s a very good thing.”
Faulkner is currently 10-5 on the year, 4-1 in region XIII and 2-0 in the conference. The Eagles have also won eight of their last nine games and today’s victory extends their winning streak to six games.
The Eagles will face region rival Spring Hill College at home on Monday, Sept. 24 at 6 p.m. Look for an excellent matchup as the fourth and fifth ranked reagion teams battle in the Tine Davis Gymnasium.
