Faulkner opened the Faulkner Invitational with a conference game against Columbia College. The 14-7 Fighting Koalas proved easy prey for the Eagles and Faulkner sealed the match in three straight 25-14, 25-18, 25-19.

Momentum was key for the Eagles in the tournament's opener. The home team jumped out to an early lead and held the pace for the remainder of the match. Senior outside hitter Holly Hutcheson once again led the offensive front with 11 kills (.240) and added 12 digs and another pair of service aces. Jessika Robinson also had a strong match with eight kills and seven total blocks. Libero Kari Wiggins contributed 17 digs.

The Eagles now sit at 12-11 on the year and 5-5 in the SSAC. The program will take on undefeated Freed-Hardeman University (19-0) in the second round of pool play this afternoon in the Invitational.
