Ashley Malloy, MS, ATC, LAT 

Athletic Trainer

     Ashley Malloy arrived at Faulkner University in May 2007 and is the head athletic trainer for the football program.

     After earning her undergraduate degree from Franklin College, Malloy accepted a Graduate Assistantship with Alabama Sports Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama. She worked under the guidance of Dr. James Andrews and Dr. Jeff Dugas. She worked with the trackand field program and the New Orleans Bowl Championship football team at Troy University. Malloy graduated from Troy with a Master’s of Science in Sport and Fitness Management in the spring of 2007.

     Malloy was born in Indianapolis and grew up in nearby New Palestine, Indiana. After graduating from New Palestine High School in 2001, Malloy played softball and worked as a student trainer with the football, baseball, women’s basketball and track and field programs for two years at Franklin College. She became a certified athletic trainer in August 2005.

 


Alicia Thornburg, ATC, LAT

Athletic Trainer

  Alicia Thornburg arrived at Faulkner University in August 2007 and is the head athletic trainer for the women’s and men’s athletic programs, with the exception of football.

 

     While earning her undergraduate degree, Thornburg worked as a student athletic trainer with the University of Southern Mississippi football and baseball teams under the direction of Dr. Stephen Beam, Dr. Lance Line and Todd McCall, MS, ATC.  She also spent time working with Kimberly Rider, MPT, ATC at Magnolia Healthcare’s Physical Therapy Clinic in conjunction with North Forrest and Sumrall High Schools. Thornburg went to the GMAC Bowl with the Southern Miss football team in Mobile, Ala., in 2006.  She graduated from Southern Miss. with a Bachelor’s of Science in Athletic Training in May of 2007.

 

     Thornburg was born in Tupelo, Miss., and grew up in nearby Mantachie. She played fast and slow Thornburg Hopper was a student athletic trainer at Northeast Mississippi Community College working with the school’s football and women’s basketball teams.
