Hal Wynn

Head Coach and Assistant Athletic Director

     Head coach Hal Wynn is entering his 18th season as the leader of the program. Wynn has worked for the university for the past 25 years and has piloted the softball program since its inaugural season in 1992.

     Under his leadership Faulkner has posted winning records in 12 of its last 14 seasons and has recorded at least 25 wins in all but two seasons. The program has also accumulated 30 or more wins nine times. The Eagles have earned bids to the NAIA Region XIII tournament 13 of the past 14 seasons.

     The 2008 season marked a significan milestone in the his career. Wynn earned his 500th career victory last season in game two of the series sweep of conference rival Reinhardt College on March 29.

     The success of Wynn’s teams hasn’t been restricted to the field however. He has always placed a major emphasis on academics and has seen many of this student-athletes selected to a variety of conference, regional and national all-academic teams.    

     Wynn was named Faulkner’s associate athletic director in 2005. His primary focus in the position is NAIA compliance and student-athlete eligibility.    

     Wynn was a standout middle infielder for what was then Alabama Christian College – now Faulkner University - where he graduated in 1978. He went on to earn an undergraduate degree in Business Administration form Troy State University in 1980. Originally from Brundidge, Alabama, he and his wife Rhea have two children – James, age 20, and Jacqui, age 15. The Wynns are members of Dalraida Church of Christ.
