Eagles drop game two against William Carey

March 3, 2008
Montgomery, Ala. – After an exciting win over the Crusaders in game one the Eagles looked to repeat their feat in game two. Both teams were scoreless until the fourth inning when William Carey put up a single run. Faulkner remained unshaken, but the Crusaders were able to add two more in both the fifth and sixth innings, while the Eagles failed to drive in runners on base. Faulkner put up two runs in the seventh inning, but it wasn’t enough to turn the tide and the Eagles lost 6-2.

Samantha Kendrick took the mound for the Eagles in game two. The sophomore had three strikeouts in just over six innings and gave up seven hits and five runs - three earned. Cheryl Lavarnway struck out the last batter in the sixth inning and gave up one hit and one run in the seventh.
Katie Godfrey and Shauna Suttle each finished the game 1-for-3 and Jennifer Ellisor was 2-for-3.
The Eagles are now 5-7 on the year and will face LaGrange College away in a doubleheader on Wednesday, March 5, at 3 p.m. CST.
