Eagles end split streak

Montgomery, Ala. – After splitting their last six doubleheaders the Eagles finally took a series sweep this afternoon against conference opponent Emmanuel College. The Eagles blanked the Lions 7-0 in game one and went on to 4-1 a game two victory.

Cheryl Lavarnway took control of game two for the Eagles and gave up only a single earned run, while allowing only two hits. The senior finished the game with six strikeouts, two of which came against the final two batters.
Freshman Cynthia Betchelor was 1-for-2 with an RBI and the Eden Harris was 1-for-3 with a pair of RBIs.
The win pushes the Eagles to 14-15 overall and their 5-3 conference record has them tied for third with Lee University. The Eagles will take on Southern Wesleyan in a conference doubleheader at home tomorrow at 1 p.m.
