Montgomery, Ala. – Faulkner opened game one of the home doubleheader with Emmanuel this afternoon in exceptional form. The Eagles put up runs in four consecutive innings and were able to shut out the Lions 7-0.

     Emily Jimmerson went to the mound to start the day off for the Eagles. The freshman had a sensational game. She allowed only two hits with no runs and added 11 strikeouts. This marked Jimmerson’s fourth game of the season with 10 or more strikeouts.

     The Eagles, meanwhile, finished the game with seven hits and an equal number of runs. After a scoreless first inning fans were brought to their feet as sophomore Shauna Suttle pelted a 3-run shot to put the Eagles on the board.  It was her fourth homer of the season. Sophomore Eden Harris followed with an RBI single in the third. Faulkner added another run in the fourth and fifth innings.

 

     Shauna Suttle had an impressive game one at the plate going 3-for-4 with four RBIs and a home run. Eden Harris finished the game 1-for-2 with an RBI.

 

     The Eagles will continue with game two at approximately 6 p.m.
