Faulkner hosted Freed-Hardeman University Tuesday evening at the YMCA fields in Montgomery. The Eagles were looking to build on their winning streak, but after taking an early 1-0 deficit, failed to rally over the Lions in the 3-1 loss.
Freed went on the board in the first half when a header off a cross kick found its way into the net. Goalkeeper Kevin Saxby and a defender came out for the stop, but a well-placed ball past just out of reach. The Lions would take the one point lead into the break.

The Eagles evened the score in the second period when Igor Popovich fired a free kick from deep in Freed territory. Keeper Alexandre Girodo tried to knock the ball over the crossbar but shot it into the top of the net for the score.
The tie didn't hold for long however, as the Lions attacked for a pair of scores before the game's close.
