Faulkner hosted Southern States Athletic Conference rival Brewton-Parker College Tuesday evening. The Eagles were looking to rebound from Saturday's loss to conference foe Shorter College. Faulkner found itself in a rut early on, but managed to bounce back for a tie late in the game. The Barons had one last shot in store however, and pulled out the 3-2 victory.

The Barons' first goal was a clumsy one. A soft shot that snuck by the keeper and behind a pair of defenders. The visitors took a 1-0 lead just seven minutes into the contest, but struck again 20 minutes later.
Faulkner was in need of a goal to boost confidence before the half and the answer came by way of Igor Popovich off an assist from Nels Midgarden.

A hungry Eagles bunch stormed the field in the second half and Rodrigo Pontes found the back of the net just five minutes in giving Faulkner the tie with plenty of time remaining.
The back and forth battle lasted until Jake Giannini scored the go-ahead goal for the Barons. It was his second score of the game. The 3-2 lead would carry Brewton-Parker the remainder of the outing.

"We did some good things," said head coach Brett Mitchell. "There were a couple things that we had to deal with today, but we still should have had this one. It's never easy when you come up short, but it's even harder when a conference game slips away."

The game did indeed seem to simply slip away for the Eagles. The home team out produced the visitors on the offensive side of play taking 18 shots compared to the Barons' 10. Shots on goal were also nearly double with nine for the Eagles and only four for the Barons. A big difference came in the box, however. Faulkner put away only two of its nine shots, while Brewton-Parker was 3-for-4.
"We have the players, we just need to play our game." Mitchell added.
