Montgomery, Ala. -

Faulkner knew going into tonight's game that defeating Auburn Montgomery would be no easy task. The Senators entered the contest at 10-5 overall on the season and and were vying for the Eagles' No. 2 position in the SSAC standings. With both teams carrying only two conference losses it was a pivotal game for both sides. To further heighten the evenings entertainment the Senators  came in ranked No. 20 in the most recent NAIA poll making them the sixth nationally ranked opponent the Eagles have faced so far this season. From the outset the Eagles were determined to prove that they were the stronger team and in front of a capacity crowd stunned the Senators 86-65.

The Eagles never trailed in the game many believed would be a "sure thing" for the Senators. Faulkner also had four players score in the double-digits for only the third time this season and senior forward Jon Uriartie snagged the programs first double-double of the year. DaeArtis Halliburton missed the double-double mark by only a single rebound. The Eagles also shot 50 percent on the evening with an impressive 80 percent from behind the arch in the second half. Josh Gholston led the way hitting 5-of-6 from three point land. Everything seemed to click for the Eagles tonight and the victory puts them at 10-10 on the year and gives them solid claim of the No. 2 slot in the SSAC standings. With nine more conference games left on the schedule the season is far from over, but the Eagles have proven that they are very much a threat in one of the strongest conferences in the country.
