Montgomery, Ala. - As severe weather hammered down outside the Tine W. Davis gymnasium last night the Eagles paralleled the storm inside. Faulkner faced conference rival Brewton-Parker and blistered the Barons 63-38.

Durell Reichardson takes it strong to the rim
The Eagles were without senior point guard Bryant Murray who missed the game due to a shoulder injury that he sustained in last weekend’s matchup with Southern Wesleyan. Reggie Dupree, who lead the team in scoring with 11 points, and De Hereford took control of the offense and helped lead the Eagles to another conference win.

Jonathan Walker hits a jumper in the first half
Faulkner had a nice distribution of statistics on the night. Durell Richardson made a big statement under the basket with 10 points and three rebounds. Jeremy Lunn hit 3-of-5 from behind the arch finishing with nine points, three boards and an assist. Josh Gholston dropped in seven points and added six assists, three steals and a rebound to the mix. He also contributed an impressive dunk early in the second half for good measure.

The Eagles dismantled the Barons on both sides of the ball. Faulkner’s aggressive defense held Brewton-Parker to a 17 percent shooting efficiency from the floor in the first half and allowed only a single 3-pointer the entire game. Meanwhile, the Eagles’ offense shot 46 percent from the floor and hit over 60 percent from behind the arch.

The Eagles move to 8-8 overall and 5-1 in the SSAC. The program will face a tough conference opponent on Saturday when they take on Southern Poly at home. The game is set for 2 p.m. in the Tine W. Davis gymnasium.
