Montgomery, Ala. - The Eagles took the lead out of the gate and never looked back, shooting 53 percent from the floor and playing stellar defense en route to an 80-50 victory over Spring Hill College.

"I thought our first half defense was really good. Obviously we shot the ball well," Faulkner coach Jim Sanderson said. "We had one of those nights where everything just clicked."
The high man in the game was Brandon Vaughn, who finished with 17 points while connecting on 5 of his 9 three-point attempts.

However, the story of the evening was Durrell Richardson. The Snead State transfer poured in 16 points, grabbed eight rebounds -- including five on the offensive end -- and blocked two shots.
"I thought Durell Richardson came into a starting role and just did a great job on the offensive boards," Sanderson said.

"My job is just always to get the rebounds and to hustle, not really to look to score that much but just to crash boards always," Richardson said.
Josh Gholston added 12 points for the Eagles while Bryant Murray dished out 11 assists, leaving him only eight shy of 500 for his career.
