Faulkner players receive honors

Faulkner junior forward Randell Moore was named to the All-Southern States Athletic Conference first team, announced Wednesday night at the conference’s post-season banquet in Rome, Ga.
 
     The Eagles’ Chris Palmore, who earned a starting role the last half of the season, was selected to the league’s All-Freshmen team . Aaron Greenwood, Faulkner’s senior captain, was chosen as the Eagles’ recipient of the “Champions of Character’’ award, which is an initiative of the NAIA.

     Moore, a transfer from Williston State College in North Dakota, averaged 16 points and seven rebounds for Faulkner, turning in double-doubles in six games. The native of Tobago finished fourth in the SSAC in scoring and fifth in rebounding.

    Palmore, an all-county selection last year at Cartersville (Ga.) High School, averaged five points, two rebounds and two assists in his first collegiate season.
 
    Greenwood, who averaged five points and four rebounds a game, is a two-time NAIA All-American Scholar Athlete.
