Faulkner hosted its first home basketball game of the year on Saturday against Pensacola Christian College. Both programs entered the event at 0-1 on the year, but it was the home team that evened their record with the win. Faulkner led by 17 at the half and extended that lead to 27 with a final of 79-52.

     The Eagles have struggled a bit with knocking down shots so far this season. Faulkner shot only 36 percent from the floor against Mobile in their season opener, but that number improved to 52 percent on Saturday. The birds shot only 23 percent from behind the arc against the Rams, but saw the number jump to nearly 38 percent in their home opener.

     On the flip side, Pensacola Christian shot terribly. The Eagles held the visitors to only 32 percent from the floor and 18 percent from 3-point territory. In fact, Pensacola Christian was 0-for-5 from behind the arc in the second half.

     Senior forward Aaron Greenwood led the Eagles in scoring with 14 points and had two rebounds. Fellow senior Reggie Dupree followed with 11 points, four rebounds and five steals. Junior Josh Gholston had 10 points, four blocks, three rebounds and a pair of steals. And junior Andrew Williams neared double-double figures with 11 rebounds, nine points and three steals.
