Baseball Team Raises Funds For Katrina Victims
The Faulkner baseball team hosted a carwash Sept. 10 on the Montgomery campus to help assist families affected by the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, raising more than $1,200.
Head coach Andy Priola's players flagged cars down on Atlanta Highway for the free carwash, with those receiving the service asked to make donations to the relief efforts.
Two Faulkner players – Percy Pittman from Hattiesburg, Miss., and Nick Stillwagon from Biloxi, Mississippi – and their families were directly impacted by the powerful storm. The Pittmans house was completely destroyed by the storm, while the Stillwagons suffered extensive damage to their home.
