Bigger, Stronger, Faster

Not only is the Eagle Baseball Team busy getting ready for the season on the field, but each Tuesday and Thursday they are diligently working out in the weight room to get bigger, faster, and stronger.  Every Tuesday morning at 5 am and again Thursday night at 8 pm the Faulkner position players hit the weights, while the pitchers lift Tuesday nights and Thursday mornings.  Being a college athlete takes great dedication and these Faulkner players are definitely putting forth the effort.  “A baseball player’s body is kind of like a bank account” says head coach Andy Priola.  “You have to make deposits in the fall so that you can write checks in the spring.”

A variety of lifts and exercises are performed at each workout.  Some players are sprinting on a treadmill while others may be lifting weights while still others may be doing ab exercises.  Whatever the case, you can guarantee deposits are being made with intentions of writing large checks this coming spring.
