Montgomery, Ala. – After defeating No. 8 Cumberland two games to one over the weekend the Eagles were looking to extend the win column this afternoon as they took on Martin Methodist College. The RedHawks came in fresh off of a four game winning streak after sweeping No. 16 Lindenwood College in series last weekend. The RedHawks pulled out to an early lead in game one, but persistence paid off and the Eagles went on to blast the visitors 10-4 and 13-3.
After a scoreless first inning in game one the RedHawk bats began to heat up as they fetched three runs in the second and another in the third. Down four runs the Eagles knew they needed to pick up the pace and came alive in the bottom of the third. The Eagles scored four runs in the inning, three of which came off of a home run by Kevin Boyd. Faulkner added pair of runs in the fourth, three in the fifth and another in the sixth, while the RedHawks remained scoreless.
