The Eagles took the field this afternoon at Montgomery's Riverwalk Stadium to take on Robert Morris College. The visitors jumped on top in the first with a 1-0 lead, but Faulkner exploded in subsequent innings for the 12-5 blowout.

Mitch Whatley controls the tempo from the mound
Mitch Whatley held the mound for the Eagles through five innings. The senior had three strikeouts and gave up only a single earned run. Junior Topher Blanchette took control in the sixth and produced four strikeouts.

Faulkner was virtually unstoppable at the plate. The team put up 15 hits and 12 runs in eight innings of play. The onslaught included a three-run blast courtesy of Austin Adams in the third. The senior shortstop was 3-for-5 on the day.

Other major contributors included Jose Morillo who was 2-for-2 with an RBI double and Winston Stone who went 2-for-4. Kevin Boyd rocked an RBI triple in the sixth to help solidify the Eagles' victory.

Faulkner (11-7) will return home to Harrison field tomorrow evening where they will open conference play with Brewton-Parker at 4 p.m. The teams will meet again in a doubleheader on Saturday scheduled for noon.
