Faulkner grabs first baseball win

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Faulkner's Michael Colley hit a three-run home run and Kevin Boyd added a solo shot in a five-run eighth inning as the Eagles earned their first victory of the season with a 13-6 win over Loyola here Friday night.
Faulkner (1-3) staked Loyola (3-4) to an early 5-0 lead before the bats came alive. The Eagles pounded out 14 hits, with Jose Morillo leading the way with two hits and three RBI. Winston Stone, Cody Bridgman and Ryan Reece each had a pair of hits, with Stone and Bridgman adding a pair of runs scored apiece.
Justin Hay earned the victory, scattering three hits and allowing only one run while striking out four in four innings of relief.
Faulkner and Loyola play a doubleheader Saturday at noon.
