On March 3, 2003 a dream came true for Faulkner University. Faulkner has always been an institution dedicated to the study of the Bible, and the centrality of the biblical message to the entirety of its curriculum. However, the University had never had a building dedicated exclusively to the teaching of the Bible and religious studies. With the opening of the Harris-Parker Building this changed.
The V. P. Black College of Biblical Studies now has all of its offices located in the new “Bible” building, and all Bible classes are taught in the Harris-Parker building. Besides offices for the College of Biblical Studies, and the Cloverdale Center for Family Strengths, the building also has a computer lab and several classrooms. Three conference rooms can be found on the second floor. A beautiful atrium welcomes the visitor into the building, and the exquisite Lester Chapel provides a place for small gatherings, preacher training, devotionals, and even weddings.
