On many spring days baseballs fly hard over Lamar Harrison Field, but they rarely fly dangerously out of the park, so don't worry. (Although if you hear a whistle, cover your head.) The baseball complex is located “across the ditch” on the north side of the campus next to Hunnicutt Park, and the baseball Eagles have established a winning tradition over the years here, including a National Christian College Athletic Association national championship in 2001.
The field's facilities were recently updated in 2002 when it and a neighboring field were outfitted with stadium lights worth about $237,000 dollars in total, enabling games to continue well beyond daylight hours. The field also features up-to-date dugouts and fencing, and sitting just behind home plate like a second catcher is the Harrison Field House, a landmark structure in use for over twenty years.
Playing is always competitive in the Southern States Athletic Conference, and when one throws in games against tough NAIA opponents, Harrison Field offers some of the best baseball around.
